Portable Charcuterie Board with Lid
A portable charcuterie board with a lid lets you build the spread at home, close it, and set it out ready to eat when you arrive. The Trust Bliss Snackle Box does this with 8 removable compartments that keep cheese, meat, crackers and fruit apart, a clip-shut lid, and mini forks and spoons stored inside the lid.
How is a charcuterie tray with a lid different from a wooden board?
A wooden board looks good on the table but has to be wrapped in film to travel, and everything slides together. A charcuterie tray with a lid keeps each food in its own compartment, closes with four snap-lock clips, and carries by a fold-flat handle. You unclip it at the picnic or party and it is already arranged.
Wood is still the better choice for a big centerpiece at home. For anything you carry, a lidded tray is easier.
Wooden, glass or plastic charcuterie board with lid: which is best?
A wooden charcuterie board with a lid looks the most traditional, but wood absorbs juice and oil and must be oiled and hand washed. A glass board with a lid is easy to clean and does not stain, but it is heavy and can break in a bag. A clear plastic tray with a lid is the lightest to carry and lets guests see the food through the lid; choose one with a published BPA lab report. For picnics, tailgates and car trips, plastic is the practical choice. For a dinner party at home, wood or glass looks better.

What should go in each compartment?
- Hard cheese, cubed (cheddar, gouda, manchego)
- Soft cheese in the centre compartments, away from the crackers
- Cured meat, folded or rolled
- Crackers or breadsticks in an outer compartment, added last
- Grapes or berries, patted dry
- Nuts or dried fruit
- Olives or pickles, well drained
- Something sweet: dark chocolate or dried apricots
Charcuterie board ideas that travel well
- Classic: cheddar, brie, salami, prosciutto, crackers, grapes, almonds, olives.
- Mediterranean: feta cubes, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, pita chips, marinated artichokes (drained), olives.
- Sweet board: strawberries, dark chocolate, pretzels, dried apricots, shortbread, nuts.
- Veggie board: carrots, snap peas, peppers, cucumber, cheese cubes, hummus in a sealed jar.
How far ahead can you pack it?
Cheese, meat, nuts and grapes can go in the night before and sit in the fridge with the lid on. Add crackers in the morning so they stay crisp. Keep the box cold until you serve it, and use a cooler or an ice pack under the box for longer trips.
What makes the Trust Bliss box a good charcuterie container?

Frequently asked questions
Is the Trust Bliss charcuterie board with lid leakproof?
No. The lid clips closed for carrying but it is not sealed. Drain olives and pickles well and keep wet dips in a separate sealed jar.
Can I put it in the dishwasher?
No. Hand wash it in warm, soapy water. The clear PET tray and lid soften at about 140°F, which is why we say hand wash only.
How many people does one box serve?
One box holds a snack spread for about 2 to 4 people. For a bigger group, the 2-Pack gives you two complete boxes.
Does it come with utensils?
Yes. Mini forks and spoons are included and store in a tray inside the lid.
